Sudan donates food items to civilians in South Sudan

Sudanese President Omar Hassan Ahmed El Bashir donated 250 thousand sacks of sorghum to the civilians in South Sudan.

 

Minister of Defence and Veteran Affairs Kuol Manyang Juuk told Journalists at Juba international Airport on Tuesday upon arrival from Khartoum.

 

He says the sorghum will go to civilians in Aweil Bentiu and Juba in barges.

 

The officials did not specify when the items will reach the country.

 

Petroleum Minister Ezekiel Lul Gatkuoth said the government of Sudan has agreed to help the young country to increase oil production.

 

He says the assistance will be in terms of commodities and building materials to revive the oil fields.

 

Lul adds that they agreed to meet within thirty days to finalize the arrangements.

 

Earlier, President Salva Kiir has instructed the Ministry of Petroleum to increase oil production to generate revenue.
