The Governor of Wau says religious leaders have a big role to bring peace as it happened in Western Equatoria and Jonglei States and other parts of South Sudan.
Andrea Mayar Achok said arm group accepted peace initiative to be mediated by the religious leaders, Radio Voice of Hope reports.
He made the statement while briefing council of ministers and religious leaders on Monday.
Governor Mayar revealed that religious leaders will be involved in the formation of the committee that will lead the negotiations after meeting the arm group.
He called for honesty so as to build trust between the warring parties for peace to prevail.
The governor was accompanied by military, security, and political leaders headed by General Tom al Nour Daldum.
