UN International Organization for Migration says 37,200 internally displaced persons or IDPs are currently sheltering at UN protection of civilians’ site in Juba.

IOM in a statement on Wednesday said it and other agencies will count the IDPs to determine the current size of the population to ease delivery of services.

The Organization Programme Coordinator Andrea Paiato, said staff from 15 agencies are expected to participate in the count.

He says inter-agency cooperation is essential to the success of the exercise.

The exercise will improve planning for humanitarian assistance and enable the World Food Programme to provide food for registered IDPs, the Coordinator noted.
