South Sudan consults Kenya on regional force deployment to Juba

South Sudan’s First Vice President Taban Deng Gai on Tuesday arrived to Nairobi, to consult Kenyan officials on the UN resolution to deploy regional force to Juba to restore security and protect civilians.
 
The delegation visited President Uhuru Kenyatta at the State House and discussed range of issues.
 
Deputy Minister of Information Akol Paul Kordit to reporters at Juba Airport prior to departure that ‘UN Resolution adopted on South Sudan is a multi-stakeholders’ resolution, requiring the country to consult friends’.
 
He said Taban Deng will present the position of the people South Sudan on the UN resolution on the four thousand strong troops to the country.
 
Kenya is among the countries that will contribute troops to deploy in the South Sudanese capital.
