One person was killed and four others injured by unidentified gunmen in an ambush along Torit-Kapoeta road.
The incident took place at Ukuma Mafi in Hiyala Payam of Torit County on Sunday evening, Radio Emmanuel reports.
Namurunyang State spokesperson Josephine Nakuru says those ambushed were passengers travelling from Torit to Kapoeta County.
The minister condemns the frequent attacks along Torit Kapoeta road and calls upon the bandits to cease the act.
She says Namurunyang will work jointly with the Imotong State to restore security along the highway.
The injured victims are undergoing medical treatment at Kapoeta Civil Hospital.
