About twelve victims of rape cases have been reported within July and August indicating a sharp rise compared to the previous months.
The recent case was on August 10, says Ajok Monica, Health Link medical officer in charge of Gender-based Violence department Torit State Hospital, Radio Emmanuel reports.
An 18-year-old victim, who preferred to remain anonymous, says her attacker threatened her and the mother with a bow and arrow.
The girl appreciates Health Link for giving her medication and cancelling.
Monica encourages the public to report any rape case as early as possible.
She says relative and victims do not report most rape cases for fear of stigma.
