The Traders’ Union in Rumbek Central County on Wednesday met business people to find out why prices of the commodities continue to rise daily without new goods coming in the market.
The chairman of the Union James Dok Malou said the office has called all traders to know the ‘uncontrollable’ prices, Radio Good News reported.
He said the government gave traders free market prices in July for them to bring goods to the markets.
Dok reveals that the goods which are now in the markets were imported in April when prices were a bit low.
The Union found out that many foreign businessmen have goods in their stores, but do not want to sell.
Rumbek citizens decry the looming hunger as many people cannot afford one meal per a day after markets run out of goods.
