Government demands regional forces be independent from UNMISS

South Sudan government says the protection forces deployed in the country should be an independent body, not under the UN Mission in South Sudan.
 
Information Minister Michael Makuei Lueth says Intergovernmental Authority on Development failed to harmonize the communiqué according to the government proposal, Radio Bakhita reports.
 
He accused UN Mission in South Sudan Commander of failing to achieve its objectives.
 
Makuei cautions African countries against becoming UN protectorates as South Sudan is not the only country with crisis in the region.
 
United States proposed that UN Security Council authorize four thousand strong troops to strengthen peacekeepers in South Sudan and ensure total peace in Juba.
 
African Union and regional bock IGAD agreed to deploy intervention forces to strengthen UNMISS activities after conflict erupted in Juba in July.
 
UNMISS which has more than ten thousand strong peacekeeping mission in the country, has been criticised for failing to fully protect civilians during the fighting.
