UNHCR appeals for 700 million Dollars to support South Sudan refugees

The UN Refugee Agency or UNHCR is appealing for 700 million US Dollars to support South Sudan refugees in Uganda this year.
 
UNHCR Communications Officer in Uganda Charles Yaxley said the number of new arrivals is increasing on daily basis.
 
He said since the beginning of violence in Juba on July8, UNHCR received more than 70 thousand South Sudanese refugees in Uganda.
 
The officer warned that more than one million South Sudanese will seek refuge in Uganda by the end of this year.
 
He said UNHCR has opened a new camp in Yumbe District of North Uganda to host new arrivals.
 
The Communication Officer said since July, more than 70 thousand South Sudanese refugees have arrived in Uganda.
