The Minister of Gender, Child and Social Welfare in Yei River State appeals to development partners to support persons with disabilities especially women.
Mary Apayi Ayigga says women with disabilities face double discrimination in communities including lack of education and stigma.
She stresses the need for both the government and the partners to empower women with disabilities by sending them to courses within and outside the country.
Apayi urges women to jointly work hard to ensure that their fellow women with disabilities are represented in the parliament.
She stresses the need to develop working relations to realize positive impact in the community.
The minister was speaking during the opening of two-day workshop on the review of gender policies on Monday.
