Saint Joseph Secondary School team defeated Sts Peter and Paul Parish Football team 2-1 in a friendly match on Monday in Heiban County of the Nuba Mountains.
Sabry Mubarak, Captain of St Joseph’s team, told Radio Voice of Peace that the game was the best of its kind in the region.
He added that football game is a nice activity that promotes peace and unity among players and spectators.
Meanwhile, captain of Saints Peter and Paul Parish Kodi Kodi said his team was not settled in the beginning, but managed to score one.
He encourages players to continue practising so that they can promote sports in Nuba Mountains.
The teams cite challenges of getting sport materials like balls, shoes and good playgrounds, forcing them to organize competitions occasionally.
