The Head of the Inter-faith Council for Peace Initiative in Western Equatoria urges the international community to continue persuading President Salva Kiir and Dr Riek Machar to implement the agreement they signed last August.

Bishop Barani Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala of the Catholic Diocese of Tombura/Yambio says people want a chance to make a better life for themselves and their families.

He in a statement stresses the need to overcome the culture of violence that is tearing South Sudan society apart.

The Bishop says respect for human life is the starting point.

He pledges that the Church bodies continue working in dioceses, parishes and schools to bring a change in people’s hearts.

The Bishop advises people to have hope, patience, steadfastness and new action for a better future.

Bishop Hiiboro prays that ‘we place our hope in God, who will grant us relief in His own time’.
