The Transitional Government of National Unity should protect its citizens and ensure security for all, says Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission or JMEC Chairperson.
Festus G Mogae while addressing JMEC meeting on Sunday in Khartoum, Sudan called on peace agreement partners to adhere to ceasefire and fully implement the deal.
He called for cantonment of forces throughout the country according to the Permanent Ceasefire and Transitional Security Arrangements provisions.
Mogae urged the international community to address the dire humanitarian situation in South Sudan.
He strongly condemned obstruction of Ceasefire and Transitional Security monitors by state agents from implementing their mandate.
The Chairperson appealed to JMEC partners to continue holding the situation in South Sudan and ensure necessary measures for the implementation of the agreement.
