Transitional parliament speaker to be sworn in next week

The incoming speaker of the Transitional National Legislative Assembly is expected to take oath of office next Monday.
 
Anthony Lino Makana was on Wednesday elected as the speaker during a meeting of the SPLM chaired by President Salva Kiir.
 
Makana emerged the overall winner ahead of Betty Achan, Luka Monoja and David Nailo.
 
The chairperson of the Information Committee in the Assembly, Benjamin Mori, confirmed to Radio Bakhita that the swearing in ceremony will be held on Monday.
 
According to the August 2015 Peace Agreement, the parliament will be headed by an Equatorian and be expanded from 332 to 400 seats.
 
The agrement further says the SPLM-IO will nominate new 50 legislators, one from the former detainees and 17 from other political parties.
