Kumbur Payam Department of Agriculture distributed seeds and farming tools to its population.
Payam Agriculture Secretary, Hutturah Lalo, said the offer came from a local aid organization, Radio Voice of Peace reports.
He clarified that the seeds are not meant for food, but to be planted to increase production and get next year’s seeds.
Lalo added that another aim is to improve the community with food and avoid dependence on aid.
The Secretary instructed the chiefs to take seeds from their communities for the next year’s cultivation.
He said chiefs need to store up seeds for next season to avoid waiting for seeds from the organizations.
