Minister appeals to teachers not to surrender due to low pay

Minister of Education in Tonj State appealed to teachers not to lay down their tools due to low salaries.
 
Tabitha Awut Anyar said the issue of the salaries of teachers has been a biggest challenge, Radio Don Bosco reported.
 
She the issue has let to shut down of some primary schools in some parts of Tonj State for the last three months.
 
The Minister advised the teachers to understand the difficult situation the country is going through.
 
Some of teachers earlier complained of being paid less than foreign teachers, making them not able to manage their families.
 
The minister was talking to teachers in Thiet County upon her visit after closure of the schools.
 
The closed down schools reopened last week following the minister’s meeting with teachers.
