Yei River State government and community representatives resolved to mix up the army in the town to create peace and unity.
The meeting followed growing fear and rising cases of insecurity in the state including recent killings in Yei town, Radio Easter reported.
State and local government officials, chiefs, community leaders, youth and women came up with 15 resolutions on Thursday during a one-day public meeting.
The meeting condemned the recent killing of four people in Yei town and demanded that perpetrators be arrested, investigated to face the law.
It also resolved to disarm civilians holding guns and soldiers moving with weapons in the town.
The meeting recommended redeploying undisciplined army outside the town.
Meanwhile community leaders in Yei called on South Sudanese and foreign nationals to work together for peace.
They urged communities to forget the past and start a new chapter of building peace collaboratively.
The local leaders also urge the government to bring into account soldiers or civilians who violated the ceasefire ordered by President Salva Kiir.
