Calm returns to Lainya County, says official

Relative calm has returned to Lainya County in Yei River State following the Monday attack that displaced over five thousand civilians.
 
Stephen Lodu Onesimo says the security situation Lainya has returned to normal though citizens still live in fear, Radio Easter reports.
 
He adds that they are still following the conditions in the county to allow the displaced people return to their homes.
 
The spokesman appeals to the humanitarian agencies to assess the situation of the people in the area.
 
He calls on the regular forces to respect the orders President Salva Kiir and Dr Riek Machar gave to ceasefire and protect the civilians.
 
The Minister was speaking to Radio Easter on Wednesday in Yei.
