The Catholic Diocese of Rumbek on Sunday opened Mazzollari Teachers Training College in Cuiebet County of Gok State.
The launched was under the theme: ‘Teaching and learning for love, peace and development’, Radio Good News reports.
Fr Victor Odhambo College Principal says teaching is a profession of caring, which he describes as ‘a very dangerous task.
Diocesan Coordinator Fr John Mathiang Machol during the opening remarks, hails the community for collaborating and supporting the Diocese with the College land.
He adds that the College will not only be for students of Gok State, but will admit scholars from the whole South Sudan.
Gok State Local Government Minister Samuel Wel Machiek on behalf of the government urges people to work together as one entity.
He expresses government’s commitment to support and protect the College from any kind of abuse.
Mazzollari Teachers’ Training College was built since 2007.
It recruited 20 students to continue the legacy of the late Bishop Caesar Mazzollari of Catholic Diocese of Rumbek.
