An official of the Centre for Women Association in Kauda area of the Nuba Mountains has cautioned parents and teachers against all forms of torture against children.
Raja Adam says children should not be exposed to cruelty because they may become violent in future, Radio Voice of Peace reports.
She cites beating and starving children from food as wrong methods of punishment with the view of child protection.
Adam says children must not be denied their rights.
Protection of children rights makes them to become better people in future, she says.
Children should be treated with love and friendship so that they become understanding persons, Adam advises.
She says children must be given guidance at home whenever necessary.
Authorities in the Nuba Mountains say child protection is their first priority.
