The United Nations Secretary-General calls on all fighting forces in South Sudan to stop hostilities at once.
 
Provide access to the United Nations Mission in South Sudan and cooperate with humanitarian partners to facilitate the delivery of assistance, Ban Ki-Moon appeals in a statement.
 
He urges all fighting parties to dialogue to resolve their political disputes.
 
The Secretary-General expresses deep concern about the current escalation of violence between the SPLA and some armed groups in Wau and surrounding areas.
 
Ki-Moon regrets reported loss of lives in the incident at a time of peace implementation.
 
The Secretary-General commends UNMISS and other humanitarian partners for taking pro-active steps to protect fleeing civilians in Wau.
 
UNMISS is in the process of deploying additional capabilities to the area to address possible contingencies, Ki-Moon says.
