People of Mundri who are returning home need food aid and agricultural tools for their livings, appeals Vicar General of Yei Catholic Diocese.

Fr Zachariah Angutuwa who visited Mundri last Wednesday, calls for joint efforts of the government, Church and non-governmental organizations to help the returnees in the area.

He tells CRN that the people he saw, still live in fear and lack food and other materials.

Fr Angutuwa encourages non-governmental organizations to give the returnees agricultural tools to dig for themselves to avoid reliance on food aid.

The Vicar General describes the situation from Rokkoni to Mundri as ‘very sad’ because all grass houses were burnt down during the clashes of last year.

Fr Angutuwa went to Mundri to assess the situation of St Peter Parish for its priests to return to continue leading the people of God.
