Western Lakes celebrates World Refugee Day in Rumbek

The UN refugee agency or UNHCR and Western Lakes State authorities on Monday celebrated World Refugee Day in Rumbek on Monday.
 
UNHCR team leader said the commemoration was to reflect on the stories and the suffering refugees’ experience, Radio Good News reported.
 
He hailed the people of goodwill including nongovernmental organizations for their courage to provide assistant to the internal displaced persons.
 
Western Lakes States Governor Abraham Makoi Bol Kodi urges the communities of Nyangkot to protect the school built to them by UNHCR as part of their service.
 
He calls upon parents to take full control of the school and report to the police any act against the building.
 
Marking the celebration, UNHCR handed over Nyangkot Primary School to the state government.
