Officials in Kajo-Keji County are appealing to humanitarian organizations to provide food and non-food aid to thousands of internally displaced persons or IDPs in the area.
About 8, 600 people who were displaced by the clashes are now taking refuge in churches and school compounds, Radio Easter reports.
Kajo-Keji County Press Secretary, Derik Derickson says the political situation has returned to normal, but the IDPs are in dire need.
Radio Easter quoted Derickson as saying ‘no humanitarian organization has responded to rescue the displaced people since the violence started’.
