Lol State Governor reveals a preliminary number of casualties of Raja Wednesday attack including three civilians.
Rizik Zachariah Hassan spoke to Radio Voice of Hope from Aweil that seven of his body guards were among the dozens killed by the armed group, but he managed to escape.
He says the motive of the SPLA-IO group is to tell the International community of their presence in the Bahr El Ghazal region.
Raja County Commissioner Alamin Janga says another motive of the attackers is a protest against the establishment of Lol State which puts together people of Aweil and Raja.
He says three bodies of civilians were found in the market.
Janga says the group voluntarily withdrew from the town after looting most of the valuable items including millions of Pounds from the Bank.
He says the attackers went away with 75 prisoners after they broke chains of Raja Prison, some of the inmates were serving a sentence of up to 20 years.
He says until now it is not safe for civilians to return to Raja Town, though it is already calm.
Janga says all humanitarian workers have yesterday been evacuated from Raja to Aweil.
