The Catholic Bishops of South Sudan encourage the Transitional Government of National Unity to concentrate on some immediate priorities to alleviate the suffering of the people.
The Bishops in a statement released on Thursday after their meeting in Juba, urged the government to focus on ceasefire, safety of all South Sudanese and improve the economy.
They also want the government to deliver basic services and resolve the humanitarian situation for people to live dignified and humane lives.
They noticed that currently people still live in fear, many workers are not being paid and many families have no food.
The Bishops realized that further insecurity come when the army and other security organs are not being paid.
They pledged that the Catholic Church will continue to participate in leading the reconciliation process and bringing lasting peace to the country.
The Bishops in their meeting discussed current political situation after the formation of the transitional government and the process of the implementation of the peace deal.
They also talked about the role of the Catholic Church in the process of national healing and reconciliation.
