Protect rights of children, Gender Director-General tells army

The Director-General of national Ministry of Gender, Child and Social Welfare has called on soldiers and parents to protect rights of children.
 
Regina Osalullo says children need to be granted access to basic needs such as food, shelter and clothes, Radio Bakhita reports.
 
She adds that children need education to become productive citizens in the future.
 
The Director-General says Ministry of Gender, Child and Social Welfare has developed Child Act policies to protect orphans by moral upbringing.
 
Osalullo was speaking on the African Child Day.
