Let the government and concerned authorities prioritize children affairs.

This has been a call from pupils of St Theresa Primary School of the Catholic Diocese of Torit on the African Child Day, Radio Emmanuel reports.

No activities have been organized to mark the day in Torit.

John Komakech a primary eight pupil wishes the authorities to consider the importance of the African Child Day by organizing events.

Another pupil, Savior Omodor Peter, says celebrating the day is a way of giving a chance to children to express their feelings to their parents and concerned authorities.

He says the day could as well give children a chance of building peace amongst themselves.

Viola Jidio, a class eight pupil encourages children at all levels to know their rights.

She appeals to parents to support them.

The children also call on parents, government and education partners in the state to improve the education standard.

African Child Day was postponed to Thursday next week, says Jane Gama Surur, Director for Child Welfare in the State Ministry of Gender and Social Welfare.
