The head of European Union or EU in South Sudan says weak extension of services is contributing to serious level of food insecurity in the country.

Stefano Deleo says time has come to concentrate on the concerns and the difficulties that people are facing, Radio Bakhita reports.

Increasing prices, inflation and bad roads are limiting food production in the country, he adds.

The head of the European Union says the implementation of the peace agreement is key to overcome challenges facing food production in the country.

Deleo says EU is currently implementing four programs in the country including South Sudan Rural Development to improve economy.

The European Union says nearly 2.8 million people are food insecure in South Sudan.
