A Catholic priest in Yei Diocese advises political leaders to exercise holy politics of serving the interests of the general public.

Fr Emmanuel Lodongo Sebit says political leaders should not use the poor citizens as mirror for watching their backs with interests of getting individual benefits, Radio Easter reports.

He reminds the leaders to cooperate and consult citizens to change policies for the better instead of hitting hard ordinary civilians.

South Sudan leaders need to take the good examples of former Tanzanian President, Julius Nyerere who worked for the good of his people, Fr Lodongo says.

He appeals to the nation to listen to the call for peace, reconciliation and true forgiveness now.

The Catholic priest was speaking during the last funeral rite of late Baraka Augustine in Yei last Sunday.
