The chairperson of the African Union Commission has commended the governments of South Sudan and Sudan for renewing the Cooperation Agreement signed in September 2012.
Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma in a statement urges the two governments to implement their agreements to create the necessary conditions for existence of peaceful viable states.
South Sudan and Sudan on June 5 signed an agreement during a ministerial meeting in Khartoum.
In the agreement, the two governments committed to redeploying forces from Safe Demilitarized Border Zone and renewing the Joint Political and Security Mechanism.
The revival of the cooperation agreement means promotion of free movements, citizenship and security along borderlines.
It also means trade and improvement in the revenue generation for South Sudan and Sudan.
