South Sudanese should put much effort to produce enough food to prevent over spending in markets, advises Yei River Minister of Gender, Child and Social Development.

Mary Apayi Ayiga expresses surprise to see that many women buy green vegetables from markets rather than cultivate their own at home, Radio Easter reports.

She calls on women to cultivate some green vegetables at home and use the money to buy some goods which they cannot produce.

Ms Apayi admits that South Sudanese are still living in hunger because local food production is not enough to meet the high demand of the population.

Minister Apayi gave the advice during the graduation of 20 South Sudanese agriculturalists in Yei.
