Authorities in Yei have started destroying structures including lodges and residence around Jigomoni Primary School on Saturday.
Mayor Bidali Cosmas Wori-Kojo says the move aims at opening enough land for school activities and avoid interruption, Radio Easter reports.

He says the government would have given them enough time to relocate because of the economic crisis.

An official says they were crying all days because their young children have been used for sexual practice in the area.
Residents around the school premises were given previous warnings about the demolition.
