Muslims community in Wau in its extraordinary general assembly on Monday and elected new secretary-general and two deputies after four years of leadership vacuum.
The community elected Bashir Dor Uco Secretary-General for Wau Islamic Council deputized by Al fadil Mohammed Temim and Mohammed Yousif Abd-Al Kheir, Radio Voice of Hope reports.
The general assembly recommended the new leaders to abide by the value of honesty and consult state Shurah Council in decision making.
The assembly tells the new secretaries to reclaim all Islamic assets.
The members also call for special care for orphans and widows in the state.
Shurah member, Mohammed Abdalla Seliman, read out a statement, accusing the national office for delaying the general assembly for four years.
He also blamed the caretakers of mismanaging Muslims assets.
Governor of Wau Elias Waya in his speech assured Muslims that he will extend all the resolutions to the Office of the President in Juba.
The national Islamic Council in Juba says it is meeting to response to the allegations of assets misappropriation.
