The Department of HIV/AIDS in the Catholic Diocese of Tombura/Yambio is training religious and community leaders on how the disease is transmitted and prevented.

Manager Luka Simon Brown says they also focus on counselling and awareness, Radio Anisa reported.

He urges the participants to disseminate to other people information about the virus.

The former Western Equatoria State was leading in the prevalence of HIV/AIDS, Simon regrets.

The three-day training will end on Wednesday at Nzara Palica Centre.
