The recent bombing of St Vincent Primary School in Kauda has renewed fear among civilians in Nuba Mountains, says retired Bishop of El Obeid Catholic Diocese.

Bishop Macram Max Gassis in a statement on Monday said Sudan warplanes last week hit St Vincent Catholic Primary School and wounded one teacher.

He regretted that classrooms and a library were damaged, but that there were no pupils.

On May 1, one bomb killed six children between four to thirteen years old and wounded another civilian, the Bishop recalled.

He added that another Sudanese jet dropped two bombs in the same area, killed a 6-month old baby and wounded four children on May 23.
