Thirteen UN peacekeepers were honored in Juba for protecting South Sudanese.
The 13 men and women lost their lives while serving in different units of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan or UNMISS, Radio Bakhita reports.
Those who lost their lives during service will be remembered as heroes, says Ellen Margret Loej, UNMISS head.
She hails the role of peacekeepers in protecting civilians in South Sudan.
Loej was speaking during the celebration of the International Peacekeeping Day on Monday.
The government will facilitate voluntary return of IDPs living in UN bases, pledges Hussein Mar Nyuot, Humanitarian Affairs Minister.
Radio Bakhita talked to some peacekeepers in Juba about their experience in serving the people and this is what they have to say.
The International Peacekeepers Day is marked on 29 of May every year.
