Civil society organizations organized a public lecture on women’s promotion at Mikese University College in Yambio of Gbudwe State.
Organizations Managing Director, Kumbogbia Benty, said the purpose of the forum was to create awareness on women’s rights, Radio Anisa reported.
He reveals that they will submit a policy document to the government for equal participation of both women and men in the political arena.
The document contains proposals to be incorporated into government’s policies to create a platform for women to equally participate in decision making processes.
State Member of Parliament Robert Singira during the occasion, advised women to share what they learn with their fellow women.
The lecture attracted students and teaching staff and state government officials.
