The blood of slain Sister Veronika Teresia Rackova ‘will bring more seed of love, seed of forgiveness and seed of repentance’, says retired Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Torit.

Bishop Paride Taban told CANAA on Thursday in Nairobi, Kenya that the late Sister is like a martyr and the blood of the martyrs is the seed of love of Christians.

He was returning from Burundi as part of the All Africa Conference of Churches team lobbying for peace.

Bishop Taban said everybody in Yei is calm because they never expected that the Sister would be shot while serving the people of God with all her love and sincerity.

He prayed that may the blood of the late Sister cement peace in South Sudan and the whole world.

Bishop Taban confirmed that the body of the late Sister is set to be airlifted from Nairobi to Yei through Juba on Friday.

The Apostolic Nuncio to South Sudan, Archbishop Charles Daniel Balvo, on Wednesday presided over a requiem mass for Sister Veronika at the Divine Word Catholic Parish, Kayole in Nairobi.
