The Director of Police in the Nuba Mountains has called on the authorities to respect laws they enacted to govern people.
Abel Katan Aria told Radio Voice of Peace on Tuesday that there were unnecessary gunshots in the community although the authorities formed laws.
He made the statement in the wake of increasing crime rates in the community.
Director Aria warned that if people do not honour their agreement, it will not hold stronger.
He criticized the youth for their hatred towards each other during ceremonies.
Aria pointed that those who make laws in the community including leaders sometimes go against them.
The police director remarked that his administration does not wish to see people being killed just because of negligence.
