Norway urges South Sudan leaders to work together for peace

The Ambassador of the Royal Kingdom of Norway to South Sudan calls on the leaders of the Transitional Government of National Unity to work as a team in implementing the peace agreement.

Ambassador Ton Tinnes while addressing Norway National Day on Tuesday in Juba says South Sudan leaders should address all challenges for the displaced people to return home and children go to school.

She says it is time for the leaders to embark on peace and reconciliation.

The Ambassador congratulates South Sudan for the formation of the Transitional Government and joining the East African Community.

South Sudan needs the support of Norway as it is facing financial and food crisis, says Cirino Hiteng Ofuho, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

He calls on the development partners to support the country to restore peace.

The transitional government will work to realize national reconciliation to promote unity of South Sudanese, pledges the Deputy Minister.
