The Catholic Archdiocese of Juba on Tuesday mourned Sister Agatha Avure one of the Sisters of the congregation of Sacred Heart of Jesus.

In a requiem mass at St Joseph’s Parish, Archbishop Paolino Lukudu Loro, described the late Sister as a happy person who has done what God wants in the world, Radio Bakhita reports.

Sister Agnes Lodu, member of Sisters’ Board of Council, representing the Provincial Superior General, says it is not easy for the congregation to lose sisters in the service of God.

The late Sister Agata was born to Lutuko parents in 1954 in Hiyala.

She began her education in Isoke Primary School and finished her higher education in Moyo, Uganda.

She became a religious sister in 1973 in Moyo and in 1979 she took her final vow also in Moyo.

The late sister lived 43 years as a religious sister in the congregation of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Sister Agatha died of cancer on Sunday and was buried in the Archdiocese of Khartoum.
