The Committee for National Healing, Peace and Reconciliation under the chairmanship of Archbishop Daniel Deng Bul has welcomed the formation of the Transitional Government of National Unity with a call for a high consideration of the suffering of South Sudanese people.

The Committee says saving those displaced internally and externally must be the first priority of the unity government.

The government should provide adequate security to encourage people to return to their homes, the Committee points out in a statement.

The Transitional Government of National Unity will be the first test for the politicians and South Sudanese people in general to see if they can co-exist and work together for the common good of the nation, says Archbishop Daniel Deng Bul.

The Committee believes the unity government is another chance for South Sudanese to renew their image in the eyes of God and the international community as people who can unite and work together for peace and development.

The National Healing Committee urges all South Sudanese to rally support behind the Transitional Government of National Unity to raise it to change many years of suffering.
