An elder from Equatoria region has urged parliamentarians from the region to allow other members to take part in the selection of the speaker to lead the Transitional Legislative Assembly established by the peace agreement.
Reverend Canon Clement Janda tells Bakhita Radio that the people from Equatoria region of different political affiliations should participate in the selection process.
Reverend Janda says the election of the speaker should be based on good qualifications and reputation.
Local media reports indicate that the Equatoria caucus in the parliament presented several candidates without a choice for one speaker.
