Stick to peace deal to achieve political economic stability, Dr Akol tells cabinet

The leader of the National Alliance of political parties in South Sudan, now Minister of Agriculture says sticking to the provisions of August 2015 peace agreement is the only way to realize political socio-economic stability.
 
Dr Lam Akol Ajawin says following the agreement strictly will make every stakeholder ready to move South Sudan forward.
 
Anything contrary to the peace agreement will not be tolerated, Dr Akol warns.
 
He expresses the urgent need to address economic, security and humanitarian crises as the biggest challenges of South Sudan’s present history.
 
Meanwhile, Deng Alor Kuol, the Minister of Foreign Affairs commends President Salva Kiir for making apologies to the South Sudanese people for creating destructive war and subsequent suffering.
 
Minister Alor urges other stakeholders in the two-year conflict to apologize too.
 
He says the peace agreement calls for cooperation, forgiveness and reconciliation without which the implementation seems difficult.
 
The officials were addressing the first cabinet meeting of the Transitional Government of National Unity on Friday.
