Communities of Yei Municipality have petitioned the governor of Yei River State to complete the plans of former Central Equatoria State Governor Major General Clement Wani Konga.
The establishment of Yei municipality in 2013 aims at providing basic services, including clean and safe drinking water, Health Services and Education, Radio Easter reports.
But since the establishment of the municipality, the communities did not realize any basic services, one of the community’s members complains.
He says the community and church leaders, women representatives, intellectuals of Yei municipality among others, met to resolve the challenges caused by the municipality establishment.
The communities said the Areas like the Gimunu Boma, Jansuk Boma, Minyori Boma, Pokula Boma, Ronyi Boma, Sanjasiri Boma and Yei municipality should be made Payams.
The government should consult the communities on issues concerning development, they ask.
