The United States International Agency or USAID is conducting training of 55 Women Leaders in Lakes State on their roles in conflict mitigation.

The 55 women come from Rumbek Center, Cueibet, Yirol East and Yirol West, Radio Good News reports.

Dr Anyang Kuch, one of the facilitators says the training aims at equipping women with skills and approaches for convincing youth to end conflicts in the area.

Majok Bol, a Project Officer for women affairs in VISTAS says bringing women together is an ideal way to end the crises in Lakes State.

The women can influence men to stop fighting among themselves, Bol says.

Bol believes through women the dream of ending conflict in the area will become true.

The workshop is expected to conclude by Friday afternoon.
