The Ministry of Health in Yei River State in collaboration with Malaria Consortium has launched de-worming campaign at Kinji Primary School.

The five-day exercise targets school children from the age of 5 to 14 years, Radio Easter reports.

Praziquantel and albendazole drugs are administered for eliminating Bilharzia and soil transmitted worms, says an official.

The de-worming is essential for prevention from fatal diseases infecting delicate organs, Dr Jamshed Khan, the Programme Manager of Malaria Consortium explains.

Meanwhile, Kogo Manase Levi, the State Minister of Health calls on the public to ensure that children get de-wormed.

The de-worming tables prevent children and even adults from diseases like diarhorrea.

The de-worming exercise will conclude on Friday.
