The situation of food shortage in South Sudan is likely to worsen in the next few months, warn the Episcopal Church Bishops.

Church leaders from the dioceses of Rejaf, Rokon, Wonduruba, Lainya, Terekeka, Kajo-Keji and Yei have raised the starvation alarm after three-day fellowship in Terekeka.

They express concerns over the deteriorating economic situation and insecurity in Equatoria and other regions of the country even after signing of Peace Agreement.

The church leaders urge peace partners to speed up the process of forming the Transitional Government of National Unity to address the multiple problems, the country now faces.

The church men and women call for urgent humanitarian assistance for the Internally Displaced Persons in the dioceses of Lainya and Yei.

With God, the leaders hope South Sudan will rise again and shine.
