The Director of Health and Environment in Yei Municipality has challenged residents in to keep the surrounding clean to avoid diseases.

Alison Samuel Taligi says citizens and partners need to cooperate with the local government to get rid of rubbish for better sanitation, Radio Easter reports.

If the construction of the human waste drying bed is completed, residents will use toilets so that their faeces are easily emptied, Samuel says.

He adds that faeces once taken to the drying bed will be kept for sometimes to become manure for agricultural benefit.

The Initiative is from German and Finish governments through with an agency known as KFW.
